The Outreach Vision of Neil Avenue Baptist Church
At Neil Avenue Baptist Church, our vision and our slogan is "Making A Difference for Christ" in our immediate neighborhood (Victorian Village area), in our larger neighborhood (Short North, The Ohio State University), in our city, state, nation, and to the whole world. We will make a difference for Christ with the attitude we call W3, which stands for "Whoever, Whenever, Wherever."
Whoever means that all are welcome. Neil Avenue Baptist Church is open to all people, of all races and ethnicities, of all economic levels, of all educational levels, and of all lifestyles. Jesus did not die for only the Jews. He did not die for only Americans. Jesus came to die for all people, and so, we welcome all people all the time.
Whenever means that any time is the right time to introduce people to Jesus. We believe that salvation is based on a relationship with Jesus, not on following a bunch of seemingly disconnected rules. Jesus established relationships with people when he was in synagogue, when he was at a well looking for a drink of water, when he attended parties, and even when walking down a road. We want to introduce you to our friend and brother, Jesus, who is also our Lord, our King, and our Savior. We will take the time - any time is the right time - to do that if you will let us.
Wherever means that the right place to meet Jesus is any place where you are, because Jesus is there as well. Jesus is found in church, and we strongly believe that church attendance is a necessary, even critical, component of our, and your, spiritual growth. Jesus, though, is not bounded by four walls, a roof, and a floor. Jesus is found on battlefields and mountainsides, in gyms and workplaces, or wherever you are. Our vision is that wherever you are, we want to be there to introduce you to Jesus.
As 516 Christians (see our Mission Statement) with a W3 attitude, we will go forward to "Make a Difference for Christ."
We invite you to become a part of our church and join us in carrying out the mission and vision given to us by Jesus.
